In the best way I know" I answered myself, "I must do AUTOBOMBO! That's how this small campaign of self-promotion and graphic experimentation was born. I combine geometry, typography, morphing and iridescent colour effects. Through completely analogue formats, I mix animation with the fantasy of making animated stickers with which I replace my face by my own skills to make me AUTOBOMBO. Oh, and don't forget, OPEN FOR PROJECTS. “¿Cómo me puedo autopromocionar? De la mejor manera que sepas” me respondí, “¡Hay que darse AUTOBOMBO!”. Así se gestó esta pequeña campaña de autopromoción y experimentación gráfica donde mezclo geometría, tipografía, morphing y efectos iridiscentes de color. A través de formatos completamente analógicos, mezclo la animación con la fantasía de hacer pegatas animadas con las que sustituir mi cara por mis propias habilidades para darme AUTOBOMBO. &nbsp; Ah! "But haven't you thought of selling it? That's the most common phrase I hear when I show people my ceramic works. Yes, besides motion, data &amp; graphic designer I do pottery, I still don't consider myself a "pottery designer" but I'm very happy with the results. For this reason I decided to design a brand, an image and a mock website for my pottery, because there is nothing better than doing something for the love of design. The brand refers to the essential elements that make up the ceramic pieces, the clay and the glaze. From here I wanted to build a visual identity based on the colours of the materials of the pieces, flat contrasted backgrounds and total prominence of the pieces. A graceful and elegant typography, combined with Swiss design elements and compositions. All this accompanied by soft animations with liquid effects such as another of the essential elements in this art, water. “¿Pero no has pensando en venderlo?” Es la frase que más suelo escuchar cuando le enseño a la gente mis trabajos de cerámica. Si, además de motion, data &amp; graphic designer hago cerámica, todavía no me considero un “pottery designer” pero estoy muy contento con los resultados. Por esta razón decidí diseñar una marca, una imagen y una web (ficticia) para mi cerámica, y es que no hay nada mejor que hacer algo por amor al diseño. La marca hace referencia a los elementos esenciales de los que se componen las piezas de cerámica, el barro “clay” y el esmalte “glaze”. A partir de aquí quise construir una identidad visual basada en los colores de los materiales de las piezas, fondos planos de contraste y total protagonismo de las mismas. Una tipografía grácil y elegante, combinada con elementos y composiciones de diseño suizo. A simple structure that is designed to highlight the value of ceramic pieces. Despite its apparent simplicity, conceptually it seeks to make a connection between the materials, the states and the finishes themselves, giving rise to fluid animations and contrasting graphics. La web se estructura básicamente en tres niveles: la home como contenedor de todo el contenido, colecciones y ficha de producto. Una estructura sencilla que está pensada para poner en valor las piezas de cerámica. Apart from serving as a practical tool to consult information, we wanted to create a product that could be used to experiment and encourage interactions within the ecosystem itself, hence its name, CRUSH. Among its most innovative functions we can find a 3D guide through the school that takes you to the next class through a new path every day, a notice board as an infinite tunnel, a digital attendance signature system or the detection of profiles related to your tastes with which you can have a great design crush! This project was carried out as part of the MADD programme of ELISAVA. Project carried out in collaboration with DARP. Este proyecto nació con el objetivo de visualizar la vida y la actividad de la universidad ELISAVA para toda su comunidad pero especialmente para sus alumnos. Al margen de servir como una herramienta práctica donde consultar información, quisimos crear un producto que sirviese para experimentar y fomentar las interacciones dentro del propio ecosistema, de ahí su nombre, CRUSH. Entre sus funciones más innovadoras se puede encontrar un guiado 3D por la escuela que te lleva hasta la siguiente clase por un nuevo camino cada día, un tablón de anuncios a modo de tunel infinito, sistema de firma de asistencia digital o la detección de perfiles afines a tus gustos con los que puede haber un gran design crush! Este proyecto fue realizado como parte del programa MADD de la ELISAVA. In this way I could measure how busy I was or how much I missed the natural light because in my room at the moment of maximum brightness, that is at 12:00 AM, it appeared that it was barely dawn. If it weren't for art, design wouldn't be what it is, because its one main forms of generation is to appropriate the style and language of art to communicate visually. Appropriationism is everything. Without appropriationism there would be no evolution since we use the references already created to generate new ones. We learn from appropriating the work of others, from taking what interests us from them and exploiting it in another way, in a personal way. Trends are appropriation, when a style is popularized by other brands or authors they appropriate it in their own way, that's how design works. That's how we evolve, that's how we relate, appropriating each other, in a figurative sense. The fact of appropriating an idea from another has a perverse part, but in the good sense it is an act of regeneration, which in many cases aims, by virtue of the intentions of the one who appropriates it, to give the work a new meaning. It should not be confused with plagiarism, the art of copying as precisely as possible and supplanting the authorship of an idea, work or technique. Through appropriation there is an implicit act of acceptance of the original work in order to enlarge it, to take it further, even if it is dealt with on a critical or ironic level. This project aims to be an ode to a graphic/aesthetic/cultural style that is difficult for me to understand, sometimes even unpleasant, ugly and ineffective, but which has been widely accepted among contemporary spheres of the graphic design world. With the name of NEW UGLY, this style has been taking a lot of prominence among the trends of graphic design, being every day the identity graphic of the "modern", the new, the cool. During all this time I have been able to appreciate how this eclectic style has spread, so have some of its main characteristics, which has led me to say on more than one occasion "If it seems all the same! with what one of two, or has done the same designer / studio or are copying each other," rather is an act of appropriation but in which designers adopt the style to generate this new / old fashion / movement. So much so that sometimes it is difficult to differentiate between them. So for all this I have created an instagram account, one of the most popular platforms for this movement, in which I have made an appropriationist exercise of the NEW UGLY style with which I intend to highlight its fundamentals and try to learn and understand how and why it works like this from an ironic perspective and in a meme format, that's why the project is called APPROPRIAFEISM. En si el apropiacionismo es algo inherente al arte y al diseño. Si no fuera por el arte, el diseño no sería lo que es ya que es uno de sus principales formas de generación es apropiarse del estilo y lenguaje del arte para comunicar visualmente. El apropiacionismo lo es todo. Sin apropiacionismo no habría evolución ya que nos servimos de los referentes ya creados para generar otros nuevos. Aprendemos apropiándonos del trabajo de otros, de coger lo que nos interesa de ellos y explotarlo de otra manera, de un manera personal. Las modas son apropiacinismo, cuando un estilo se populariza otras marcas o autores se lo apropian a su manera, así funciona el diseño. Así evolucionamos, así nos relacionamos, apropiándonos los unos de los otros, en sentido figurado. El hecho de apropiarse de una idea de otro tiene una parte perversa, pero en el buen sentido es un acto de regeneración, que en muchos casos pretende, en virtud de las intenciones del que se lo apropia, de dotar a la obra de un nuevo sentido. No hay que confundirlo con el plagio, el arte de copiar lo más precisamente posible y suplantar la autoría de una idea, obra u técnica. A través de la apropiación hay un acto implícito de aceptación de la obra original para poder engrandecerla, llevarlo más allá, incluso aunque se trate en un plano de crítica o ironía. Este proyecto pretende ser una oda a un estilo gráfico/estético/cultural que para mi me es difícil de entender, a veces hasta desagradándome, feo y poco eficaz, pero que ha tenido una gran aceptación entre las esferas contemporáneas del mundo del diseño gráfico. Con el nombre de NEW UGLY, este estilo lleva un par de años tomando mucho protagonismo entre las tendencias de diseño gráfico, siendo a día la gráfica identitaria de lo "moderno", lo new, lo cool. Durante todo este tiempo he podido apreciar como al extenderse este ecléctico estilo, también lo han hecho algunas de sus características principales, lo que me ha llevado a decir en más de una ocasión "¡Si parece todo lo mismo! con lo que una de dos, o lo ha hecho el mismo diseñador/studio o se están copiando unos a otros", más bien es un acto de apropiación pero en el que los diseñadores adoptan el estilo para generar este nuevo/viejo moda/movimiento. Tanto es así que a veces cuesta poder diferenciarlos entre ellos. The challenge was to maintain their technical and responsible image, with a fresh and attractive touch. ASEPAL es la Asociación de Empresas de Equipos de Protección Individual de España. Necesitaban redefinir su imagen corporativa, digital y además realizar una serie de piezas infográficas para comunicar en redes sociales.
